The typical timeline for tests that students will take throughout high school is as follows:

 

8th Grade

  • Regents Exams
  • *Algebra 1 in June (for accelerated students)

 

9th Grade

  • Regents Exams
    • *Living Environment (Biology) in June
    • *Algebra 1 in June

 

10th Grade

  • Regents Exams
    • *Global History in June
    • Earth Science or Chemistry in June
    • *Algebra 1 (Extended class) in June
    • Geometry in June
  • PSAT (for practice) in October

 11th Grade

  • Regents Exams
    • *English (E.L.A.) in JANUARY & June
    • *U.S. History in June
    • Algebra 2/Trigonometry in June
    • Chemistry or Physics in June
  • PSAT in October
  • ASVAB in November
  • A.P. Exams in May (if course offered)
  • ACT in April or June
  • SAT in May or June

 

12th Grade

  • Regents Exams
    • Chemistry or Physics in June
  • ACT (retake) in October
  • SAT (retake) in November
  • SAT Subject Test(s), if required in November, January or May
  • ASVAB in November
